Activities

Saturday School activities have been numerous, all with the goal of learning new things and exploring new possibilities:

1.   Fishing Social with the St. CharlesLions
2.   Swimming party
3.   Exploring a local mall
4.   A trip to the Des Moines Zoo
5.   Baking cookies with Braille recipes
6.   Christmas party with a blind Santa and singing Christmas carols
7.   Making Valentines and Christmas gifts for family and friends
8.   Exploring the downtown Des Moines Skywalk system
9.   Going to the Farmer's Market in Downtown Des Moines
10. Climbed a Rock Wall at In-Play, an activities place in downtown Des Moines
11. Went "grocery shopping" with money and a list of things to buy                                                         12. Explored the Des Moines International Airport and fire station                                                                                       13.  Learned  to grill                                                                                                                                               

 

 Upcoming Events:

1. Saturday, November 12th we'll meet back at the Iowa Department For the Blind at 10.  We'll be meeting with another blind business man who operates a successful vending machine operation.

2. Friday, December 9th from 6p-9p we'll have our annual Christmas party at the home of Cody and Bettina Dolensek.
